Generally authorizes a combination with a GCWR of 26,001 pounds or more when the towed vehicle exceeds 10,000 pounds GVWR.

Open Class A
Class BHeavy single vehicles

Generally covers a single vehicle with GVWR of 26,001 pounds or more, and certain buses or towing within Class B limits.

Restrictions matter as much as endorsements

Testing in a vehicle without full air brakes, a manual transmission, or the proper tractor-trailer configuration can place restrictions on the CDL. Train and test in the equipment needed for the intended job.
